Refund Policy:

We ensure that plants are healthy prior to shipment. However, damage can happen during transit. If there is an issue with your order, please send a picture of the issue to hardybonsai@gmail.com within 24 hours of receiving your plant. If we do not receive a picture within this period, we are not able to offer a refund or replacement. If your plant arrives dead and our nursery has a suitable replacement available, we will provide the replacement free of charge, if we do not have a replacement on hand, we will provide a refund. If you order a pre-bonsai tree and it arrives with superficial damage, we will provide a partial refund at an amount determined by Hardy Bonsai.

Shipping Policies:

We only ship to the continental United States.

Shipping drop-off schedule:

At this time, we only ship plants October-April. All other products ship year round. We ship the Monday after an order is placed. To ship on Monday, orders must be placed by 12 PM on Sunday. If Monday is a holiday, we will ship on the Tuesday after the order is placed.

Possible shipping delays:

Sometimes, we must postpone shipping due to weather or low staffing etc. This will be clearly communicated in advance on the banner of our home page.

We will check your weather before shipping and add a complimentary heat pack at our discretion.

What you will receive:

For all continental united states EXCEPT Oregon and Washington state (see below), we ship plants potted in soil.

Oregon and Washington customers:

We must ship plants bare root to you, in order to comply with the state’s strict plant regulations. We are still able to ship herbaceous perennials throughout our entire shipping window as they recover quite well from bare rooting with a little extra care (please see our care sheet for post bare root shipping care). However, this limits our shipping window of pre-bonsai and trees to their dormant period, November – February when it is safe to bare root them. Bare rooting the trees when dormant is not a problem. At Hardy Bonsai, we have had to leave trees bare root for up to 10 days during the dormant period with no ill effects as long as the root ball is kept moist.

Pre bonsai specimens:

Must ship alone in their box to reduce the possibility of damage.

Local Pickup Policy:

We offer local pickup for pre-bonsai specimens and orders with a value of $100 or greater before shipping costs. Local pickup days and times must be arranged with Hardy Bonsai. If you would like to pick up your order at the nursery, place your order as normal and go through the shipping process (address and payment). Email hardybonsai@gmail.com to arrange the local pickup, at which time we will refund the shipping costs.
